OUTREACH COOKERY CLASSES
Our weekly outreach cookery classes are run specifically for people who experience marginalisation from society. This time in the kitchen provides an opportunity for people to learn and share skills around food, build connections, create and share food and feel at home.
Each class is run and organised in partnership with Bristol-based drug and alcohol services, mental health organisations, refugee and asylum seeker groups. Our partners include:
The small groups that we work with help to decide what we'll cook each week depending on their own personal needs and preferences. For example, we may make meals that can be created on a limited budget, mood-boosting foods, healthy one-pots, or foods that can be cooked and then frozen for another time.
Thousands of individuals have now taken part in these cookery classes since we began in 2011.
