SPEAK&EAT CLASSES
Speak&Eat is a free, regular six-week cookery and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) class that is open to refugees and asylum seekers who are looking to improve their English, whilst preparing and sharing delicious foods from around the world.
We came up with this cookery class concept in 2016 and have been running regular programmes ever since with the support of qualified English teachers.
Speak&Eat is a course that creates an opportunity for those who want to improve their English communication skills, whilst connecting and learning about other cultures through the beauty of cooking together. It's a natural fit!
During each weekly session, we explore a different cuisine chosen by individual group participants. Together we cook and prepare dishes from countries across the world. We then learn and practice dining traditions and customs from those countries as we sit together around the dining table to enjoy the food we have cooked.

An hour is also dedicated to speak and improve English skills with the guide of the super talented and amazing Aisha, our qualified English teacher.

Speak&Eat is a program funded by the Big Lottery Community Fund.
