There’s always something cooking at Coexist Community Kitchen and everyone’s welcome.
We host fun cooking classes, thought-provoking talks with authors, lively street food pop-ups with music, and creative food & craft sessions. On Wednesdays, our Guest Chefs serve up takeaway meals, and our Monthly Meals are a great way to connect with others in your community.
Every event we host helps support our community outreach work. We also offer catering and kitchen hire—all of which helps keep the kitchen open and thriving.
Take a look below to see what’s on—we’d love to see you there.

MASTERING FISH COOKING WORKSHOP
Friday 23rd January | 6:30-9:30pm
Dive into the world of fish cookery under the guidance of our expert in-house chefs! This workshop will give any home cook the skills, confidence, and know-how to prepare and cook fresh fish beautifully at home.
You’ll get hands-on experience with two different types of sustainable fish, learning how to scale, gut, and fillet your own. We’ll be using the best local fish from across the South West - from Newlyn to Lyme Regis - so you’ll be working with incredible, responsibly sourced produce. We’ll explore a range of cooking techniques, including grilling, poaching, curing, and frying, before you put it all together to create your own two-course fish supper, sitting down together to enjoy a delicious fish supper.
Around the table
BOOK EVENT WITH BOOKHAUS
Saturday 24th January | 12:00-2:30pm
We’re thrilled to be partnering with Bookhaus for another ‘Around the Table’ event — bringing food, conversation and ideas together at Coexist Community Kitchen.
This time, we’ll be joined by historian Eleanor Barnett to discuss her fascinating new book, Leftovers: A History of Food Waste and Preservation — a richly entertaining journey through how we’ve stored, saved and valued food from Tudor kitchens to today’s sustainability challenges.
Come share a meal, meet the author, and explore what our leftovers can teach us about the past — and our future.
