The Coexist Community Kitchen

OUR VISION IS AN INCLUSIVE WORLD WHERE EVERYONE FEELS NOURISHED

WHO WE ARE

Connecting through food

The Coexist Community Kitchen is a non-profit cookery school in Easton, Bristol. Our main aim is to use food as a vehicle to work with people who experience social marginalisation in our society.

We believe that everyone should be able to have spaces in which they can share food together, learn and teach skills and create strong connections with others.

We see food as the most simple and easy way to support each other in building a stronger, healthier and more joyful society.

FREE COMMUNITY MEALS

Every Wednesday at the Coexist Community Kitchen our team, and a group of amazing volunteers, prepare and cook up to 150 free meals that are available to anyone in the community who may need them.

We always use fresh produce and ingredients to make sure each and every meal is packed with nutrition, and thanks to our brilliantly creative team, the menu is always changing!

WHAT WE DO

Using food to bring people together

We run cookery classes and events as a way to bring people together and create a space where people feel dignified and valued.

We learn, teach and share cookery skills but so much of it is about building resilience through sharing spaces, skills and laughter.

Outreach cookery classes

Our weekly outreach cookery classes are run in partnership with Bristol-based drug and alcohol services, mental health organisations, and refugee and asylum seeker groups.

The time in the kitchen provides an opportunity for people to learn and share skills around food, build connections and feel at home.
