FOOD PROVISION SERVICE
Feeding the community
At beginning of the coronavirus lockdown in March 2020, in line with government requirements, we halted all of its primary services, cookery classes and events at the Coexist Community Kitchen.
We started working with the Caring in Bristol, Bristol Food Union and National Food Service, providing an emergency kitchen service, preparing and cooking nourishing meals every week to be packed and delivered to hundreds of people who need them within our community.
We now continue this as one of our activities- every single Wednesday our amazing team- cook delicious food for anyone who may need it.
Since we began, with the help of a small team of volunteers and regular food donations from Edible Futures, Elm Tree Farm and St Werburgh's City Farm, as well as several local allotments, we have been able to send out thousands of meals to people across Bristol. These meals can be eaten immediately or frozen and stored for another mealtime.
We plan to continue this service for as long it is needed within the community.
Please get in contact with joey@coexistuk.org if you would like to pick up some of these meals for free or volunteer with us.
